It’s taken 15 months to actually get here with all the Covid restrictions, but it was worth the wait! Thanks to Jon and Anthea for all the goodies on arrival and help with the wood burner! Chester had an amazing time and loved his mad play with Bullet! Thanks to both of you.

Blissful stay here with my daughter
Blissful stay here with my daughter. The hot tub was ready for us to enjoy on arrival this was especially welcome as we had a almost catastrophic car breakdown en route! Jon got us booked into a local garage the next day and it was sorted. We had some great bike rides, locally, nice meal at the Foston Arms. And thoroughly enjoyed the surround sound, cinema like TV with a brilliant choice of DVDs – in genre order too. We did feel Jon and Anthea were always there if we needed them, had super knowledge of the local area, and finally we wouldn’t have got back home to Sheffield without them! Highly recommend this as a place to stay – would we definitely stay again

From preparing the hot tub and getting it to temperature on arrival
Jon and Anthea were the perfect hosts from preparing the hot tub and getting it to temperature on arrival to all the lovely food they supplied. The barn itself is beautifully converted and well stocked with everything you would want for a relaxing weekend. Will definitely be recommending to friends and hopefully returning.

And what a place it is!
Booked here for a nice break for the end of 2020 seeing the new year in. And what a place it is. Homely, practical, beautiful location and somewhere you can just switch off and chill. From the hot tub to the cinema screen, endless dvds for everyone to choose. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. A really quirky, modern place with every little detail been. Really well thought of! We got the luck of some snow which really made it something else. And most of all Jon and Anthea were so helpful and accommodating, gave us our privacy but were always there if we needed anything and also the added bonus of a complementary bottle of champagne, chocolate and crisps on arrival along with essentials in the fridge. Really lovely place to stay, couldn’t recommend it enough hopefully will return in the summer and get to experience this place even more but with the summer weather!

Our stay at The Barn was absolutely wonderful
John and Anthea have really thought of every little detail from the floating drinks holder in the hot tub to fresh bread and croissants for breakfast. They were so welcoming and went to so much trouble heating the hot tub throughout the day ready for our first evening which was amazing! The projector, along with hundreds of DVDs to choose from meant that we could have the cosy stay that we intended on having. The kitchen was equipped with everything and great to use, as we’d bought all of our own food to cook. The Barn is such a quirky and stunning place, we really felt at home and didn’t want to leave.

Our little weekend away was amazing!
Firstly, although it felt in the middle of nowhere, it was so easy to find. Jon and anthea were both so welcoming to us and our dog and very accommodating of our different arrival times due to work etc. We were shown around the barn and shown how everything worked. The hot tub was also heated ready for our arrival. The kitchen was fully stocked with delicious snacks, pastries and wine too! The scenery was stunning – even with such fog and there were some beautiful walking routes around the local area. We spent our evenings in the hot tub and despite being next to Jon and anthea’s home, it was very private and we were not disturbed.

This is a wonderful place to stay!
I really recommend it! Jon and Anthea were friendly, really helpful and answered all my questions promptly. The barn is a beautiful place to stay – very tastefully decorated, Jon had left an impressive and yum range of goodies for us on arrival and the hot tub is fabulous. A lovely base for walks in the area. I will be booking it again!

All I can say is ‘wow’
From the moment we arrived Jon & Anthea were SO accommodating and welcoming! We felt INSTANTLY at home – the barn has the absolute WOW factor! It is gorgeous, they have literally thought of EVERYTHING! A complete home from home – such a nice touch having fresh bread and pastries on our arrival and even a bottle of wine (which was lovely in the hot tub) the location is out of this world and so many lovely local areas to explore. We cannot wait to return! Thanks again guys! X

We had a wonderful long weekend at the Barn
Instantly made to feel welcome by the hosts who had the hot tub heating up for our arrival. Lovely location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay even with the awful weather – cinema set up was amazing for this! Winston the westie also had a fab time and enjoy his little treats! Would love to return in the summer (hopefully with a little less rain)!

“We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday. Jon and Anthea were extremely accommodating and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They have literally thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, from fresh bread and croissants with homemade jams, chocolate and wine, and even ice in the freezer! Their knowledge of the local area is fantastic, giving recommendations of where to eat and see. Take your bikes as there lots to explore! The barn itself is exquisite, decorated to a very high standard and the Finnish hot tub is a great addition. We spent a couple of nights relaxing and watching the stars. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Anthea and Jon. “

Left on Aug 13, 2020 for a stay in Jul 2020
I booked Jon and Anthea’s place as a birthday surprise for my partner, and we had one of the nicest and most memborable stays in their perfectly appointed barn conversion! Jon comes from a background in the hotel industry and the couple’s design sense speaks for itself in the interiors of the barn. Anthea was such a great help with pointers for local walks and really went the extra mile for us non-drivers 😉 The hot tub is a beautiful addition to an already perfect space and we loved coming home to a perfectly prepared tub for a soak with a view of the stars. The at home movie theater also must be mentioned — they have a fantastic selection of films to watch. Lastly, the scenery. The Barn is located in such a beautiful and secluded part of the Cotswolds — there are many gorgeous walking trails a stone’s throw from the Barn. We recommend dinner at the Woolpack in Slad nearby 🙂 If you’re looking for a picturesque escape from the city or just a special weekend away, you’ve found the perfect spot! Thanks again Anthea and Jon for everything 🙂 Hope to see you again sometime! Best, Alice + Olly

5 Valleys Barn was the perfect getaway at the end of a very stressful few months. From the moment we turned down the driveway onto the estate, we felt the tension ebbing from our shoulders! The accommodation was gorgeous. Everything was extremely well looked after and all of the finishes and fittings were very well maintained. There were loads of great touches: the cinema screen, the Finnish hot tub, the lovely welcome goodies! Most of all, everyone there was just so welcoming. Our girls – 6 and 8 – had the best time. They were round visiting the stables every chance they got. Everyone was so friendly and they even had a chance to feed Little Sal the Shetland pony. We’d go out in the morning and watch the various owners riding their horses and they were all so willing to chat and explain what they were doing – as we didn’t know anything about horse riding! The views were perfect. Looking across the fields we saw rabbits, deer, swallows, never-ending butterflies, as well as the horses. From the house there were lovely walks into the woodland and to a variety of pubs for lunch. Despite the fact we were in the middle of lockdown, it was a wonderful getaway. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Myself and my partner stayed here for the weekend and it was an absolutely amazing place to stay! Our hosts were so attentive but gave us the privacy we wanted, and the croissants on arrival were a nice touch! If anyone is going to stay make sure you use the hot tub, it was one the best parts of our stay. We will definitely be returning!

“Booked this as a surprise 40th for my husband just before lockdown and we’re so glad we did. Such an amazing place from the welcome and tour we got from Jon and Anthea on arrival to the well stocked kitchen. Inside the barn was so cosy and warm and the perfect place to relax and watch a film on the cinema screen. There’s lots of lovely pubs within a short driving distance or if you like walking the scenery is fantastic through the woods. We were able to go for a lovely walk through the woods during the day in the sunshine and come back to enjoy watching the stars while sat in the hot tub with a glass of champagne! Thanks to Jon and Anthea, a lovely getaway. We had a brilliant and relaxing 3 days and will definitely be back in the future.”

What a fantastic place for a break away from the noises and routine of the city. We especially loved sitting in the hot tub in the darkness and watching natures performance of the clouds sweeping over the almost full moon! Billy would live here if he could stay behind.
